What Is A Game Anyways?

Can you shuffle one card?

In a previous post we mentioned a promotional card we were working on that would double as our business card. After a lot of fiddling and a whole lot of wordsmithing the our new card is here!

Quick & Durdle is a business card game that can be played with 2-to-infinity players. The only requirement is that every player has a card to play with and one functional hand. Actually, the card isn’t even necessary if you use some clever hand contortions. But we can’t exactly put our names and website on a non-corporeal game, now can we?

The game is played as follows. Every round players will choose either the Orange Quick side of the card or the Green Durdle side of the card. Then they place their thumb over a number on that side. Once all players are set there is a countdown and then everyone reveals their card.

Quick’s for the round need to point their card at whom they are targeting. Durdle’s for the round just need to hold their card close to themselves. Then the interactions are resolved. Here is where the magic happens.

Quick’s want their chosen number to be different than their target. Against a Durdle with a different number the Quick deals all of their chosen number as damage. Against another Quick, their number just needs to be higher than the opposing Quicks, they deal the difference between the two.

Durdle’s want their chosen number to be the same as whoever is targeting them. If the Durdle’s number matches the Quick’s number, the Durdle does that much damage back to the Quick. Durdle’s can’t attack, so if everyone chooses Durdle for the round nothing happens. (They are durdling after all)

And that’s it, repeat the rounds until there is only one player left standing. Every round you’ll get the chance to change your strategy. Think the table is gunning for you? Durdle up. Think someone is going on the attack? Attack them back.
